What is a Bachelor of Science in Engineering? 

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering prepares students for careers in various engineering fields by combining engineering principles, mathematics, and sciences. The Bachelor of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ is the first program of its kind in Arkansas. 

“Students don’t just learn theory; they gain real-world experience at the intersection of mechanical and electrical engineering, business strategy, logistics, and data science. The result: Engineers who can design, optimize, and lead smart manufacturing systems from the ground up.†

What Careers Can You Land with an Engineering Degree from Âé¶¹´«Ã½? 

The programs offered by Âé¶¹´«Ã½ prepare graduates for successful careers in industries such as automation, robotics, electronics, and advanced manufacturing. Students completing programs through Âé¶¹´«Ã½ will experience a high demand for jobs, competitive salaries, and industry partnerships.  

“Engineering and advanced manufacturing roles are expanding—especially in the Fort Smith region, where manufacturing employment outpaces the national average by nearly two times. According to the , between 2018 and 2033, the demand for electrical engineers in Arkansas is projected to grow by 34.6%, while demand for mechanical engineers is expected to rise by 15.6%.† 

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, “overall employment in architecture and engineering occupations is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2023 to 2033. Âé¶¹´«Ã½ 195,000 openings are projected each year, on average, in these occupations due to employment growth and the need to replace workers who leave the occupations permanently. The median annual wage for this group was $97,310 in May 2024, which was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations of $49,500.†
