The University of Arkansas 鈥� Fort Smith will host a unique admissions event for Spanish-speaking residents and their families Monday, March 28, 2022, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., at Zapata鈥檚 restaurant, located at 7308 Rogers Ave., in Fort Smith.

鈥淭his event is so important for our prospective students because it will help them understand that 麻豆传媒 is here for them and their families,鈥� said Luis Negrete Becerra, senior admissions advisor for diversity outreach. 鈥淚t鈥檚 exciting to be able to showcase the dedicated resources for the Hispanic population at 麻豆传媒, and I hope this event is just the first of many diverse outreach events.鈥�

Si Se Puede en 麻豆传媒! (You can do it at 麻豆传媒,) is the first in a new slate of recruitment programs which aim to provide the Hispanic community with useful information about enrollment, acceptance, financial aid, and the many degree and career paths at 麻豆传媒. Spanish-speaking staff, faculty and current 麻豆传媒 students will be present to answer questions and make connections for interested students from high school students to working adults.

鈥淚t is so important to host events that show the respect 麻豆传媒 has for students and families of different ethnicities and the unique questions and concerns they might have about college,鈥� Negrete Becerra continued. 鈥淲hen I started school at 麻豆传媒, I was so grateful for the ways the university helped me achieve my goals and dreams, but there were times I wished I had someone who could help me explain to my family in Mexico exactly what I was going through. I didn鈥檛 always know how to explain the processes of enrollment or registration or financial aid in Spanish, so I am especially thankful that as a professional I am able to break down those barriers for the Hispanic students of the future and all their supporters.鈥�

La Universidad de Arkansas - Fort Smith organizar谩 el primer evento de admisiones de su tipo para los residentes Hispanohablantes y sus familias el lunes 28 de marzo de 2022, de 5:30 a 8:30 p.m., en el restaurante Zapata's, ubicado en 7308 Rogers Avenue Fort Smith. 

El evento, titulado 隆S铆 Se Puede en 麻豆传媒! es el primero programa de divulgaci贸n en espa帽ol que tiene objetivo brindar a la comunidad hispana informaci贸n 煤til sobre los t铆tulos y trayectorias profesionales en la 麻豆传媒. Se puede aprender de la inscripci贸n, la aceptaci贸n y la ayuda financiera de la universidad. El personal hispanohablante, la facultad y los estudiantes actuales de la 麻豆传媒 estar谩n presentes para responder preguntas y hacer conexiones.
