Stephanie Ramming joined the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith dental hygiene program faculty in 2024 after more than 25 years in private clinical practice throughout Northwest Arkansas. She teaches General and Oral Pathology, Periodontology I and II, Dental Materials, Ethics and Practice Management, and provides instruction in pre-clinic and clinical courses.
After completing prerequisite coursework at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Ramming earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1999, graduating with highest honors. As a dental hygiene student, she received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award, recognizing the highest standard of clinical excellence and outstanding academic achievement among graduating dental hygiene students. She also received the International College of Dentists Award for Best Case Study for her research examining the relationship between periodontal health and T-cell counts in a patient living with AIDS, as well as the American Dental Association, Arkansas Award for Best Table Clinic Presentation for research on holistic approaches to periodontal therapy.
Ramming was named a fellow of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (FADHA) in 2025 in recognition of her contributions to the art and science of dental hygiene. She currently serves as president of the Ozark Dental Hygiene Study Club, where she works to promote continuing education and professional collaboration among dental hygienists throughout Northwest Arkansas.
She is currently completing a Master of Healthcare Administration degree at Â鶹´«Ã½ with an expected graduation date of December 2026.
