As an ecological physiologist (and herpetologist) who focuses on nutritional ecology, Dr. Jason Ortega examine the factors that impact energy gain, energy use, and the overall effects of temperature variation. An understanding of the mechanisms that shape animal energy budgets and how they are impacted by altered thermal regimes are vital to predicting how species will respond to stressors such as parasites, habitat degradation, and microplastic pollution.'
